BTW, I stopped using LA Player since support (and their forum) stopped last yeay. I now use PotPlayer (Portable). I also tried SM Player, but Pot Player I found more user friendly among other things. I gave up on this over rated player.

I use LA Player, I don't have this problem that whomever owns/runs VLC doesn't seem to give a --please stay polite-- about!

Why does VLC have audio sync issues, whereas other players don't playing the same videos (movies & TV series ripped from DVD's)?
I had one that was a 1/2 sec off (500ms).

I'm having the worst time playing music videos, some from U-Tube, others from pay sources as far as aspect ratio issues. I would agree with most of that, but between this selective log in problem and this not showing file names, kinda puts this in the same category. When there are this many posts on the two subjects and nothing is done about it, that I why I posted what I did.

It's obvious from the number of comments here that a lot of people besides me want that.

Many times (more than less) the image is NOT from where the cursor is. The thumbnail is from some time back.

I have the aspect box in both the Navigation toolbar & the Fullscreen toolbar and they stay open until I choose another aspect.

A 'Open Folder' icon for the navigation bar would help. Same goes for the 'Open Media' dialog box that only has a 'Open File' tab. The basic function is flawed, one shouldn't have to do numerous steps to get to folders.

I get a delay when I jump forward (or back) either with the navigation button or by using the slider, between 3 & 7 or so seconds. Using Light Alloy Player, there is no delay.

That is the problem most everyone else has in the 3 or 4 threads about the problem including the one that was locked. I understand the spam deal, but this 'fix' isn't going over very well.

Same problem here. If you go to the playlist, the files show there. My guess is, this seems to only read metadata, not M$ file names and only in the Playlist.
I have found that you can edit the metadata title, but not the M$ file name like you can in Light Alloy.

What is the timeout period (in minutes) of these forums after you log in?

Access to the menu entries works, but transport controls do not. Task manager shows program "Responding". The only way to close is to stop the process thru TM.

It also appears that the audio continues to play, but the video stops.

If you choose information, it appears that it allows changing the data since it gives you the command to save changes.
