A follow-up question: If one sets up VLC by simply extracting the VLC archive's files / subdirectories into a directory, then in order to COMPLETELY remove VLC from the system, is the process simply to remove that new directory (containing the files / subdirectories from the original archive), or is...

Thank you for the answer. I appreciate it. BTW, before posting I took a good read through the wiki and the FAQ and could not find the answer, which seems like something that is important to a new user - so either I missed it, or perhaps someone would like to add it to the wiki or FAQ.

Greetings. I am a brand new VLC user - got the archive straight from www.videolan.org and verified the md5 signature. The program looks absolutely incredible, but I have had so many issues, that I have already removed it. Unlike typical users who find a problem and probably just remove the software ...
