It just went to a pay app in the last couple days it seems. Guess Oplayer will get you by. There is no doubt VLC is a better app but at the moment it's broken so the fact it plays more vid types is irrelevant.

A dev replied in the iPad crashing string in the osX section of the forum saying they know about it and are working on it.

I installed cinexplayer (free). Moved all my movies and shows to it's folder and only one of the 12 avi's didn't play. Vlc plays the one file cinexplayer didn't so I don't know what the issue is with the one movie but seems good enough to replace vlc for now.

For this app to have been broken in this way since it's last release I would not think devs were even following these forum posts or someone would have said "we know about it and we are working on it". I'm going to try cinexplayer next. I have never tried it but it seems to be the same thi...

There is an ongoing string about this issue in the Mac os area of the forum where some users have posted crash logs.

Same crash issue for me and I just tried the fresh install on iPad based on tipsters info. Still freezes up every few minz during any movie or show.
