Re: Any way to have subtitles appear below the movie?

Wow, kind of a dealbreaker there. Too bad, VLC had some advantages over KMP but nothing THAT significant as to sacrifice displaying subs below the video. Right away, you have this setup option when opening KMP for the first time: http://img842.imageshack.us/f/kmp1.jpg/ btw, in reading some of the ol...

Any way to have subtitles appear below the movie?

I saw a couple of threads about this but there were several years old, so I figured this has probably been implemented by now, but I can't see where to make the change...? The Force Subtitle position option doesn't affect my subtitles at all, for some reason. I use external .srt files, btw. Basicall...

Able to save equalizer settings yet?

I'd tried vlc some time ago and overall liked it, but the inability to save EQ settings was a deal-breaker for me.
Does the latest version (including beta or nightly) allow you to save custom equalizer settings?

Thanks in advance!

How do I get VLC to open with playlist window open?

I've searched through the options but I can't find what option would cause VLC to open with playlist window automatically.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Is there a way to get VLC to play DVD from VERY beginning?

I know this sounds strange but my nephew who loves watching all the previews on Pixar and Dreamworks movies got all in a huff when he put a DVD in my machine and it jumped straight to the main menu (especially since there turned out to be five previews!). I know VLC can go straight to main movie or ...

Okay, but do I actually have to set that option every time I play a ripped dvd?

How to make VLC play ripped DVD in proper order?

With Media Player Classic, I just point it to a ripped DVD folder and it plays the DVD correctly, from whatever FBI warnings or previews, then to the main menu, and so on. With vlc it goes straight to the movie studio logo, then straight to a scene halfway through the movie. It has done this with 3 ...

How to set 'Blend' as the video default setting?

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile - whenever I watch a movie, the video options menu is always set to 'Disable'. I find the 'Blend' setting to give me the best picture on my pc, but is there a way to set 'Blend' as the permanent default?

Thanks in advance:)

How do I get VLC to stop going directly to DVD menu?

I know it sounds like a crazy thing to WANT to see the previews but my kid is bugging me that when he sees Pixar dvds on my pc, it skips the coming attractions and goes straight to the movie. Naturally this has never bothered me, but... I've scanned the options but I don't see where it would be to p...

Super-newbie question: Can VLC be used to compress full DVD?

That is, can I compress a full DVD (including menus, special features, etc.) using VLC player? I know how to use Fair Use Wizard and PocketDVD Studio to compress a movie and make it an .avi file, but I don't know of any software that can compress entire DVD content to around 300 - 500 MB. Can VLC pl...
