Say I collect 7 songs and add to currently playing playlist. Is there anyway to see the total runtime? Like if I had 2 4:00 songs, how do I view the total as 8:00?

What things do I need to do on a brand new computer to have bit perfect playback while using VLC?

Windows volume at 100%
Turn off VLC special effects
VLC volume at 50%? (Where does it start to amplify at???)

How do I set up VLC to play without any effects added? I am mostly interested in what setting on the volume doesn't cause clipping (200% is full? or 100% is full?). Also, I figured out that if I hold down CTRL while using the up arrow, I can get above 200%. I was confused and just wanted to listen t...
