Freeplayer works now. there are still some movies that won't play but the intreface with the freebox is fine and the sound is no more crappy. But i can't compile them.

I only tried to run a make from the make dir in the archive but it won't compile ...

I have libmatroska-0.7.7-1.1 and libebml-0.7.5-1.1

Is it necessary to update ?

how can i find the update for fedora fc4?

I try without success to update with yum on freshrpms.

You can get vlc 0.8.4 on freshrpms in packahe form.

I've been able to install it on fedora core 4, after resolving a bunch of dependanceis. Unfortunately, i still have an error about matroska in spite it successfully installed without forcing anything. Hope you will have more chances.
