Re: Firefox and VLC plugin-in

You must install the mozilla version of the VLC plugin. The easiest way to do this is by installing/re-installing the latest VLC package (e.g. 1.1.4) and checking the 'mozilla plugin' checkbox in the installation window that appears during installation. When done, restart Firefox and the plugin shou...

VLC crashes Firefox 3.6.8/10 in libvlc_release

Hi, I am not sure whether this is the right place to post this topic but I want to bring up a fault whereby Firefox (tested with 3.6.8 and 3.6.10) crashes when the latest VLC plugin (1.1.4, but also 1.1.3) is used. The crash happens when Firefox exits from a VLC-embedded page and seems to be caused ...

Re: VLC embedded to HTML in IE8?

As I replied earlier, I don't think you have the correct ActiveX plugin installed on your machine. The usual way how to get it installed and registered in the Windows registry is to do this by manually installing the whole VLC package. This is at least the way how to do it for the latest versions of...

Re: VLC plugin 1.1.3/4 crashes Firefox

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I have the mozilla <EMBED..> and the activeX <OBJECT..> tags directly written in the HTML/PHP file. I also didn't try the VLCObject library because I was/am not sure whether it supports VLC 1.1.x and because until now I had my own set of VLC Javascript objects (for VLC ...

Re: I need help with saving stream

Hi, I have a similar question, but related to PVR and Pause/Resume. I would like to play LiveTV through the VLC plugin and somehow instruct the plugin to start recording locally on the PC's hard disk. I seem to have read somehere that this kind of functionality has been disabled in the plugin becaus...

VLC plugin 1.1.3/4 crashes Firefox

Hi, There seems to be a problem with Firefox (I am using Firefox 3.6.8) running the latest VLC mozilla WebPlugins. I tried both with 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 and both crash Firefox a couple of seconds to half a minute after it returns from a page with an embedded video. Tried the same with Internet Explorer ...

Re: VLC embedded to HTML in IE8?

Hi, Not 100% sure but if you say "vlc.playlist is NULL or not an object" then its seems that the activeX plugin is not installed on your machine. You probably know but you have to enable this when you install VLC on the PC (there is a checkbox somewhere in a window that appears during the ...
