Hello - I have vlc 0.8.1 installed on Fedora Core 3, capturing from a PVR250 card. I have multicast streaming functioning perfectly. Now that I'm this far, I'd like to be able to start up vlc and start the UDP multicast stream from the command line, without X running. Is this possible?

On Linux it will work with any V4L supported card.
On Windows it should work with any DirectShow supported card (however problems have been reported with ATI all in wonder cards).

Forgive me if I missed this on the videolan web page, but I'm looking for a hardware compatibility table. Will VidenLAN work with any video capture device?
