Re: What am I missing about MP3 file's cover art handling?

1. When I upload or download new cover art, the "Save Metadata" button does not appear: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues/14928 2. When I change the cover, it is updated in file BUT NOT in cache: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues/25933 3. There is absolutely no ...

Re: What am I missing about MP3 file's cover art handling?

Still... You're linking to a forum posts, not to Trac tickets. Are there any tickets created? Are developers of VLC aware of this? All three links talks about the same -- not saving data after clicking "Save Metadata" in 3.0.12. This particular functionality works just fine here (3.0.16), ...

Re: What am I missing about MP3 file's cover art handling?

Giving an advice of downloading some other software while someone reports a clear bugs or mis-behaviours doesn't seems to be the right choice, right?

What am I missing about MP3 file's cover art handling?

It seems that I a missing something obvious, because the way how MP3 file's covers are now handled by VLC for Windows is counter-intuitive. In details: 1. When I change existing cover art or upload new in place of empty, the "Save Metadata" button does not appear. You cannot change just co...

Re: Samba or FTP support in VLC for Android TV 8.0

Thank you. Can you clarify, how can I access them? Because either I am blind or I don't see corresponding menu options. By support I meant an ability to browse video files via FTP, SMB etc. protocols. Currently there's no such feature in my edition of VLC for Android TV. Currently, when browsing con...

Samba or FTP support in VLC for Android TV 8.0

Does the VLC version for the Android TV support network protocols than DNLA? I am looking for a player able to play (on my Android TV 8.0) movies from my NAS, available via Samba (or FTP alternatively). When I browse info pages (https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html), I can clearly s...

Re: [2.0.7] Executing command-line kills VLC permanently

Seems, that I have discovered many additional bugs, when doing tests, you've asked for. I have downloaded and installed version 2.1.0-pre1-20130626-0031 Rincewind ( buildslave@altair.via.ecp.f Jun 26 2013 00:40:18 ), but I'm unable to verify, if above mentioned problems exists! [2.0.7] Executing command-line kills VLC permanently

Can someone enlighten me, what is so wrong about this command: vlc.exe screen:// --qt-start-minimized --screen-width=500 --screen-height=300 --screen-mouse-image=file:///C:/mouse.png --screen-follow-mouse --screen-fps=10 :sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=1800,scale=1}:std{access=file,dst=C:\TEMP\test....

Re: [VLC 2.0.6] Unable to capture wideo (desktop) with mouse

Thank you for your answer and help. I've seen this video tutorial, but looked at it quite fast and missed information given in comments, that protocol-like approach is the only available of specifying path to mouse cursor image file.

[VLC 2.0.6] Unable to capture wideo (desktop) with mouse

I think, I've tried everything, and I'm unable to force VLC 2.0.6 under Windows 7 to capture wideo from my desktop with mouse cursor. After reading debug messages I'm beginning to think, if this isn't some kind of bug. I started with two YouTube guides. I.e. using GUI and adding: :screen-mouse-image...

Re: VLC won't play mp3 in order, ALWAYS random

I'm pretty sure that there are better OSes than Windows, and you don't have to tell me this.

But having an option "Sort dragged files by" is completely outside OS discusion. It would be useful IMHO for any user, no matter, what system he or she is using.

Re: VLC won't play mp3 in order, ALWAYS random

In the case of drag-and-drop, users typically want the file added in the order that they were selected. There is no way for VLC to guess that if the OS does not preserve the order. If you take into consideration, that even in drag-n-drop (under Windows) there is a lot of mess, I would disagree with...

Re: VLC won't play mp3 in order, ALWAYS random

Pascal: That is a great idea for VLC. But, aside topic, the same behaviour is in Winamp and many portable players, which runs on FAT32, so it seems that many players are depending od OS-sorted file list!

Re: VLC won't play mp3 in order, ALWAYS random

Hi all, I have the same issue, as described, in Winamp and my portable hardware MP3 player, so it seems it is not a VLC problem at all. And looking into Internet seems to be confirming this. After digging through Internet I found this thread and eleventh post explained everything. The problem is wit...

Re: Default time for displaying subs

File a bug. Ticket created - bug filed: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/4061 And use a clever subtitle format. Tell this to Polish translator community where somewhere between 40-50 percent of subtitles are still existing in TMPPlayer format due to using old-fashioned software for translation /...

Re: Default time for displaying subs

My opinion is based on assumption that there are probably millions of subs with start time only out there in the Internet. Therefore: 1. Forcing user to convert owned files only because VideoLAN developers refuse to and common add obvious option isn't an argument that will give VideoLAN much positiv...

Default time for displaying subs

Hi there all, There are generally two kind of subtitle files. One (like MicroDVD format) format contains both begin and end of current sub display time. Example: {923}{983}MATRIX While the other one (like TMPlayer format) contains only start of sub display time. Example: 00:00:42:MATRIX Point of beg...
