Every time a new version of VLC comes up I greedily download it hoping it's a fix to this problem, but it isn't. Otherwise I've no use for any updates as earlier versions played all my files fine anyway.

YEs, I'm also having this problem. Would like a simple fix. I there anything in the settings I should take a look at? I'm using version 1.1.2 on a Windows Vista Basic.
