In the current beta version all libvlc functions seems to be exported, but are they not functional/working correctly? Or will be some extra functions necessary to use the API in the future?

VLC has a great API which allows to use the possibilites of libvlc in external applications. Does VLC for Android also provide the API? E.g. could it be used the same way like the "original" one? Or is this impossible?

Is there a way to get the currently displayed subtitle by using the C interface?
Otherwise I have to extract the subtitles from the video file and get it from there.

Oh, local files does not cause any trouble. Only webstreams(VLC itself can play webstreams, but why not the activex control?)
