Re: VLC 1.1.0 don't unload when closed under XP

If you launch VLC without qt, cmd line: vlc.exe -Irc and quit does it work? If I use command line "vlc.exe -Irc" to start VLC, then no window for VLC is created and VLC process hangs in the background taking 100 % of CPU. Killing the process manually is only way out. It doesn't give me a ...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 don't unload when closed under XP

I posted a similar situation to this, about using a custom skin to enable VLC to close completely, on the first page of this thread. However, I found that with a custom skin, opening the 'Preferences' window by right clicking, selecting 'Interface', then 'Preferences', then closing 'Preferences' wi...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 don't unload when closed under XP

Here's an experiment. Try uninstalling VLC and removing your C:\Program Files\VideoLAN directory, then reinstall. Does it still occur? What about on a "fresh" install of XP does it still occur? what about safe mode? What about if you run it "skinned" does it still fail? Unloadin...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 don't unload when closed under XP

Could you check the stack of its running threads after exit by using process explorer? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx (find VLC, double click on it -> stack on each existing thread). If you disable the tray icon (Preferences -> Interface -> uncheck "show systray ...

Re: VLC 1.1.x just can't be used on WindowsXP

Do you have a certain file that does it? Does VLC have to be in the middle of playing it for it to happen, or is the end ok? What graphics cards? Does it exhibit the same behavior with Windows in safe mode? what about audio versus video files? Some answers from me, since no-one else that has this &...

Re: MD5Sum

Yeah, there's something wrong here. Yesterday or so I downloaded 1.1.2. from one of the VLC sourceforge mirrors, and I got a file with the md5 01655D137224F5BBDF210F70EFF2855D. But I tried downloading again just now, from the Mesh mirror, and got a different file with md5 A040D5820AFC7FE23FB6A92758A...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 don't unload when closed under XP

Hm, I just stumbled upon something that might possibly be helpful to fix this issue: As I said two posts above I have the same closing issue as many others. But now I noticed that if the VLC Window doesn't have the focus, closing it using the X-button completely terminates the program as expected. ...
