I've noticed this worse in DTS .mkv files which have been bookmarked with chapters. (Observed using 2.0.8 x64 Windows.) For those types of files, skipping forward or backward will always cause the audio to desynchronize. If the DTS file has no bookmarks/chapters, seeking/jumping to an earlier progre...
*buttons also work locally if the media is stopped and restarted. But the new solution for me is to roll-back to Logitech Setpoint v6.32, which corrected everything as it had been for the past few years. Lesson of the day, Windows 7 version of VLC is best compatible with Logitech Setpoint v6.32 and ...
Works good, but not perfect. To sum everything up, I edited players.ini file found in C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPointP, adding the VLC strings mentioned in the aforementioned thread. This provided global hotkey compatibility for Logitech keyboard and mouse media buttons that are being driven by L...
This issue used to plague me. The whole Logitech Mouse and SetPoint issues were a nightmare when they existed. I even wrote the people at Logitech at one point and told them off royally: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Mice-and-Pointing-Devices/MX-620-SmartSearch-and-Application-Specific-Settings-for-...
Unfortunately, you're right. It's the context handler doing the misinterpreting here. My tip only applies to the WMP add-to-playlist context-handler and drag-and-drop. Tested and true in WinXP and Win7. But keep my tip in mind if you every notice it happening in other Windows applications. Click all...
Fixed. Edited vlcrc in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\vlc, removing "qt4" from extrainf string. I won't make that mistake again. And now for the fun part, scanning my laptop hard-drive for errors due to the improper shutdown. And improperly shutting down my PC and scanning all of its drives a...
Duh...my fault. I clicked the checkbox for extra QT interface module when I was trying to adjust the default display monitor. I bravely tested the same on my laptop and was able to recreate the conflict (?).
So now to fix it without resetting all of my preferences. Pointers, anyone?
A little issue for me - started last night while I was browsing the threads, after updating to 2.0.7 x64. When I open VLC, it goes straight to playlist, and I can see "My Computer" with sub-sections "My Videos," "My Music," etc. I clicked there to see how they would pop...
I'm pretty sure that's Windows-related. The same happens for me when adding files to WMP's playlist. A co-worker years ago taught me an interesting solution that still seems to work in this situation. When you're selecting multiple files and you want the order to be maintained, highlight starting fr...
I hate the way VLC currently negotiates screensaver settings with Windows 7. While VLC x86 would turn the screen saver back on when the stop-state was reached, x64 experimental won't give me back my screensaver until the program is completely shut down. From what I understand, things happen in this ...
I figured out what the problem is: always-on-top . If you set the topmost option, then the buttons do not appear on the taskbar player. This is true whether the setting is saved or not (that is, even if the player starts without the on-top setting and the buttons are visible, simply clicking Video-...
This issue has been resolved on version 1.1.11. I have observed the aforementioned buttons fully present in this version during the playback of .mkv files. There is no longer an inconsistency. Good work, VideoLAN team.
An amazing thing happened tonight. Just for the heck of it, I turned off the application specific button programming for Logitech Setpoint, so that when I press the "Media Play/Pause" button on any of my Logitech devices while focused on VLC (v1.1.11), it is no longer re-mapped to "Sp...
I've been watching and waiting - finally today the buttons reappeared again. This time the appropriate icons were visible and I was able to capture a screenshot: http://www.kleipe.com/vlc/as.jpg And after launching my next video, the buttons are gone again: http://www.kleipe.com/vlc/ad.jpg I haven't...
Just a follow-up on this request: I noticed today when using Windows Media Center that when content is paused, the screensaver will run! Not just while content is stopped, but when it is paused as well. This is exactly what I'm looking for in VLC Media Player! So that if I pause something, and don't...
Hello, I noticed that with my latest update of VLC, from version 1.1.2 to version 1.1.3, that Windows 7 Taskbar buttons are now present, just like in Windows Media Player and eMule. This is a great development, and I'm happy to see the added feature, but the buttons representing play/plause, forward...
There really aren't any config options in VLC for that. I'm not looking for more configuration options for this. I'm looking for VLC to respond in like no matter which manufacturer of peripheral device I am using with it. Why does the Saitek keyboard's media play/pause work when set as the global p...
It would be awesome if VLC could have some more complex "disable screensaver options". Up until now, my VLC will only activate the screensaver when material I'm playing is stopped - it would be helpful if the screensaver was enabled during pause as well. Also, I use dual monitors, and I ha...
Okay, this has been driving me nuts. Maybe someone knows the answer. I am using Windows 7x64, with VLC v. 1.1.0. I use a Saitek Eclipse III keyboard, and I also have a wireless Logitech Mouse MX620 and wireless Logitech Wave keyboard K350. I programmed one of my mouse buttons to function as play/pau...
