Is there way to save prevoius version settings when updating to VLC 1.1.3?

How to improve srt, sub, etc. subtitle quality? now its too fuzzy and overall bad.

I would like to see vlc player in simple blue, green, black etc colours. How to make vlc skin that changes only colour of main window, not the buttons etc. only main window colour?? Have anyone seen or made skin like that?
