Mouse wheel horiz axis control [volume control Reversed]

Hi! Position control has both a normal and Reversed.
But .. Volume only goes Down when I move my Logitech horizontal scroll wheel on the side in the UP direction?

Could a 'Volume Control REVERSED' be added to this drop down combo box in Hotkeys Settings?

If only for consistency?

Thanks!

Re: after upgrade to 2.2.2, not remembering last postion?

I thought that it was continuing playback after I changed from always to never and back again, but ... now it is Never remembering my place on XP - so ... this feature is definitely broken.

Re: after upgrade to 2.2.2, not remembering last postion?

Was able to resolve this by setting 'continue playback' to 'never', saving, closing, and then setting 'continue playback' to my original setting: 'always'.

As it clearly showed 'always' and was not functioning after the upgrade, there may be some upgrade issues with pulling over settings?

after upgrade to 2.2.2, not remembering last postion?

I upgraded VLC from 2.2.1 on a Win7 and an XP box. With 2.2.1, both would remember screen postion (although win7 would ask each time). Now, XP doesn't remember or ask, and Win7 remembers without asking (which is perfect). I did a normal upgrade and said yes to the screen asking if I wanted to keep m...

Re: on Xp - 2.1.1 plays h264 garbled video, ok audio

Also does the same in 2.1.2. It's an old box that I use rather than take a week off to setup a new box and deal with the older programs that might not work on Win7-64. I have several win7-64 boxes, and they have no issues with VLC and 2.1.2 seems to work fine on them. BTW - of the non-automatic choi...

Re: on Xp - 2.1.1 plays h264 garbled video, ok audio

I changed 2.1.1 back from DirectX to Automatic and set Messages verbosity to 2(debug). Here's what I get: direct3d debug: Created 96x96 texture for OSD main debug: auto hiding mouse cursor main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 40 ms) main debug: picture might be displayed late (...

Re: on Xp - 2.1.1 plays h264 garbled video, ok audio

Disabling acceleration didn't do anything (using old ATI X300 video card). I changed Video ->Output module to DirectX from automatic and can now see the videos. However, if I'm in full screen mode, the small dialog that pops up at the bottom showing the timeline position, etc. flickers like crazy. T...

on Xp - 2.1.1 plays h264 garbled video, ok audio

I just upgraded from 2.0.8 which worked ok. I'm on Win XP Pro - 32 bit. Codec Videc H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (Part 10) (avc1) 1280 x 720 The video plays and I see a large number of rectangles or long thin strips that contain recognizable parts of the video (at least I can see the close buttons for a window...

Thanks!

Re: older .mov's crash 2.0.8 Win7-64 and XP-32

I set Verbosity to 2, dragged a problem MOV into VLC, and it simply disappeared this time. Didn't even get the message asking if I wanted to report this. I looked in the Application Data/VLC and can see a crashdump was created of 0 bytes. Sounds a bit like an un-handled exception? Is there some othe...

older .mov's crash 2.0.8 Win7-64 and XP-32

I've got some mov files that crash 2.0.8 on both Win7-64 and XP-32. They used to play without issues on some previous version of VLC. Do I have to add additional codecs? How can I debug this, I can't even view the exact format as VLC immediately crashes? The files are too large to upload. BTW - it a...

2.0.5 forgetting which monitor it was last on

For Win7-64 and XP-32, 2.0.5 is forgetting where I move the main window the next time I open the program by double clicking on a .MOV or .MP4 file. It's set to play full screen. Oddly enough, if I move the smaller popup screen with the controls to my 3rd monitor, it remembers the position of the pop...

2.0.1 won't play mp4

I've been using vlc-1.1.11-win32.exe without problems. Installed 2.0.1 and it won't play a codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) 960 x540, frame rate 24. I just puts some lines on the screen, no audio, and takes up all my cpu. I have a dual XEON that's 6 years old, and 3 video cards: RADEON X300...

Re: Repeatable crash with 1.1.5 on XP-32 Pro

It's 100% of the time, IF I start the video and exit before it ends. Otherwise, it does not hang. And only hangs if I'm in the special full screen mode where there's only the video and a small interface that appears if I move my mouse to the bottom of the screen (otherwise, it is hidden). Really str...

Re: Repeatable crash with 1.1.5 on XP-32 Pro

Are you in the mode where you have a small interface at the very bottom that disappears? One fellow didn't realize that you could get into this full screen mode, and unless you are in this mode, the problem won't show itslef. BTW - The 1st time I upgraded from 1.x, I didn't preserve the preferences ...

Repeatable crash with 1.1.5 on XP-32 Pro

In Preferences->Video Settings, check 'fullscreen'. Open a video and set to 'minimal view' and 'full screen' close VLC. Then open a movie and let it start to play. Right-click anywhere on the video and select 'Quit'. VLC will hang and show 'not responding' in the task manager. It never starts respon...

Re: play 1920x1200 video with floating controls?

Actually, that's not correct. I had it in full screen with no user interface at all, and when I moved my mouse an interface with play, pause, etc. and the min:seconds would show up and then go away shortly. That was with 4.1.1. I set some preference to get that to work. The 4.1.4 install asked about...

What is the setting to get this to show up?

I need to play a 1920 x 1200 video on a 1920 x 1200 monitor 1:1 with no resizing. Is there a way to have the controls visible in a floating interface while I'm full screen? stop playback with left mouse click anywhere in screen?

1. Is there a way to stop playback by clicking anywhere on the VLC screen? I guess I"m used to the evil Quicktime player.

2. Is there a way to setup a 'Previous Frame' hotkey?

Thanks!
