Re: Files not Working

Hitchhiker, I really appreciate all the time and effort you have made to help me with this problem - Thank you!! Yes, I am in exactly the same boat with the board - got into the site, but now have to use 2 step verification. Downloaded two of the apps they suggested, and still can't get in. There ha...

Re: Files not Working

The CCTV box is the Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2-8P. I've been in touch with the manufacturers about this, but haven't had any solution from them. I figured that it could be a VLC issue, but not sure. I'm still trying to post a bug issue, but I cannot get into the Videolan issues board. I try to sign up, ...

Re: Files not Working

Thanks guys, for the information and assistance. I shall post a new issue at the link provided.

About the container, does this mean that the CCTV software has assigned the wrong file extension for the type of container, and that it shouldn't be an mp4 file, but should have a different extension?

Re: Files not Working

I checked with NVIDIA, and there is actually a newer driver available, so I got that. I am now using 27.21.14.6589 but the video has the same issues. I will try doing it again with the uninstaller!

Re: Files not Working

I couldn't get the zippyshare link to work. I wasn't sure how to chop up the video, but thanks for doing that. My graphics card is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti. You are aright about my driver, it's 27.21.14.5671, I will try changing that and see if it helps! But, just to confirm, you also had issue...

Re: Files not Working

Hitchhiker, thanks a lot for explaining all of that to me. Here is the output from the messages window: https://pastebin.com/uPYNgANB The video is from an external CCTV camera. The software records in blocks of 1GB, and allows these blocks to be downloaded. So, the filesize is quite large, but I hav...

Re: Files not Working

That is an image from MediaInfo, to show the parameters of the video file that I am having problems with. Unfortuantely I couldn't find a way to get the image into the post.

Files not Working

Hello all, I am having problems playing files with the following parameters: https://imgur.com/89mXYPt https://imgur.com/89mXYPt I am using 3.0.12 Vetinari. I sent it to someone for testing, and they said it worked on their old version of VLC - 2.2.4 (from 2016!). Is there anything about the video p...

Re: Using 'Audio Desynchronisation Compensation'

Thanks, I had a look at your link. But he doesn't explain how to re-record the file. Do you know how to do that?

Using 'Audio Desynchronisation Compensation'

Hello all, I often use the Audio Desynchronisation Compensation feature in VLC and it sometimes takes me quite a while to get the audio in perfect sync with the video. I was wondering if it is possible to save this setting for each individual file? If not, is there some software that I can use to do...

Re: Using mouse buttons to jump back/forth?

The shortcuts in VLC are ALT+left arrow and ALT+right arrow. I don't know how they got assigned in the past, because I definitely never did that manually. But in previous installations the mouse buttons used to work.

Using mouse buttons to jump back/forth?

Hello all, I used to be able to skip back and forward using my teo little mouse buttons by the thumb. Since I reinstalled windows and got the latest VLC: 1.1.5 - they no longer seem to work. I had a look around in the settings and found what I think is the associated command in 'hotkeys'. It's the '...

Re: How to play files encoded with DivX?

Thank you!! OpenGL output worked for the DivX. And switching off Accelerated video output/Overlay video output made mp4 files work correctly. :D Thanks for not making me have to download a load of trashy codecs.

How to play files encoded with DivX?

Hi all, I just did a clean install of Windows XP Home and I've installed VLC 1.1.5. On the homepage it says VLC can play files encoded with DIvX, so I don't know why this one won't work. It plays but it looks like the colours are misaligned. Do I need to adjust a setting somewhere? Here's the MediaI...

Seamless repeats?

Hello all, I have just upgraded to the latest version (0.9.8a) after using a very old VLC for many years. I found the repeat settings under 'Playlist' but there is a small problem I cannot fix. In my old version, the repeat would be completely seamless but now, when I watch in full screen mode, afte...
