Btw, why is the max. bitrate 3092k? Are this restriction caused by a codec?

I noticed that the maximum selectable bitrate for transcoding video in the GUI is 3092 or so. Thinking about HD-resolutions, this is way too low. I tried with the command-line and found out that e.g. mp2v would allow max. 15000kbit/s (higher values are interpreted as bit/s). This is still a bit low ...

This question may seem trivial, but searching the docs and the forum I couldn't find any enlighting information. I want to mux a H.264 ES and a AC-3 ES into a TS. A way to find out cmd-line params is to start vlc with vlc -vvv and to let the GUI do what you want, e.g. File->Streaming Assistant->Transcoding,... when you start the job, you get the constructed commandline on your console.
