Re: Alright, Alright I Won't Use Media Library Anymore! She

My troubles with the Media Library feature (the original post of this thread) in VLC had specifically to do with version 1.1.3 so it's more or less moot now. Why is it moot, you may ask? Because 1.1.4 is out, obviously. 1.1.4 criticisms will be made moot once 1.1.5 is released and so on. I brought m...

Re: Alright, Alright I Won't Use Media Library Anymore! She

You are so not clear... That's what I get for trying to inject sarcasm in written compositions. My comp professor warned me this would happen. That is, in fact, the trouble with the internet: it relies too heavily on the written word during a time which very few can write well. If the internet came...

Re: 1.1.3 bug

Yes, I suffered the same problem. I went back to 1.0.5 and everything works great.

Perhaps there's a Belgian or Algerian software designer that can make a better open source video app? tee hee!! I'm just kidding with ya! Don't go all surrender-mode on me. Aww man, I crack myself up.

Re: A series of VLC Players (including 1.1.4) have this erro

I am not sure if it is my computer itself or VLC Player but since I used VLC 1.1.0, it can not "Show containing folder" in "Media Play List". What exactly happening here is: when you "Ctrl + L" to open play list then you right click on a media file and click on "S...

Re: Win 7, VLC Player V1.1.2 and above will not open folder

Use 1.1.4 You replied similarly when I brought this issue to light in 1.1.2. You said, Use 1.1.3. So I did. That version didn't open folders in the Media Library either. I'm not hopeful for 1.1.4. I went back to 1.0.5 and everything works great. Plus, 1.0.5 doesn't spend several minutes pointlessly...

Alright, Alright I Won't Use Media Library Anymore! Sheesh!

By disabling the Media Library functionality since 1.1.0, you've convinced me to change my evil Media Library-using ways. I vow to never use it again, you have my word. Think about altering the UI to remove these Media Library elements. Me? I'm good to go...but leaving these UI elements intact could...

Whither Media Library?

I may be the only one that uses this feature (judging by how many others have posted similar problems) but VLC 1.1.2 crashes any time I make an attempt to add a folder to the Media Library. I'm using Win 7 64. I opted to send a crash report, which was offered directly after the crashes...in fact I s...

Re: Media Library Woes + Crash

Update: In an effort to test the avi file in question with another app, I activated Windows Media Player (with much reservation) and played the avi file with that. It worked. Afterward, I closed WMP and launched VLC again. I cleared the items in Media Library, checked preferences to be sure Display ...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 ALL BUGS and PROBLEMS-I WANT OLD VERSION

Don't tell me it's Divx. Uggh. They're the worst! I'm in the same boat but I'm not sure I want another player. I like VLC but between the crashes and the media library tree not working, I'm going back to 1.0.3, which is the most recent older version I have. That's the trouble with auto-updaters: sur...

Re: Media Library Woes + Crash

No, I cannot share the file but all XVID avi files are affected in the same way. Also, versions prior to 1.1.0 do not succumb to this behavior (both the broken tree and crashes).

Math. Just Do It.

Re: Media Library Woes + Crash

Yes, I've selected Display Playlist Tree and pressed Save. This was done before and after adding items to the Media Library, saving the settings both times to be sure. When I close VLC and start it up again...items in the Media Library are in regular view (non-tree) format. What other info do you ne...

Media Library Woes + Crash

Firstly, I love VLC. It rocks like a cockfight. I use no other video player. However, with the release of 1.1.0, the Media Library is treating it's files in a peculiar way and I wanted to know if it was intentional. Before 1.1.0 ...I launch VLC with the playlist where I have all my vids stored in a ...
