I use vlc on cdma to transfer video . becase the low bandwidth there is lose udp packets, the server vlc often use CPU to 90% and can not recover to normal , i must use task manager to shoutdown vlc.
you only need click button "Advanced options" in dialog "directshow",
then check the box "Device properties".
this should be a bug, I hope some one can solve the problem.
each time you open capture device, you must open device property dialog. it's very inconveniently.
I have solved this problem. I download another contrib-win32-xxx.b2 that contain a wx-2.5( i use contrib-win32-20051104-xxx.bz2 that contain wx-2.6), and copy wx-2.5 director to win32/include, and run config again and make, success .
compile wxwidgets in cygwin needs wx2.5.
in cygwin/xp, make vlc-0.8.5-svn, make complete normal, but libwxwidgets_plugin.dll cna't be created, in wxwidgets directory, there is not any .o and .a file exists. i open wxwidigets/.deps directry, all libwxwidgets_plugin_a-xxxx.Po ( not libwxwidgets_pic_a-xxxx.Po and libwxwidgets_a-xxxx.Po) files...
0.8.5-svn-20051121 solve problem of my computer restart when play local file, but open capture video device will crash program( software encoding card).
another , vlc and libvlc , wxwindgets are compiled on ms vc, but can not call those plugins compiled on cygwin, why ??

I compile the 0.8.5-svn vlc. and make it success, but after vlc.exe runing,there is only interface skin2, playlist can be fired, all other funtion are not active, I don't know why ?
I have the same problem, playing any file will restart computer, but open streaming out it will work . I use another notebook computer , it work well.
I dot know why ?
