Sounds like a possible open-source project to me. Is there one being worked on right now. I guess I can search sourgeforge.org. I think a generic GPU HAL of some sort would be ideal. Now that I am thinking about it, VLC 0.8.4 introduced hardware abstraction. Can HAL in VLC tweaked in future version ...

I did build the GTK+ version of wxWidgets 2.6 ( http://www.wxwidgets.org ) before building 0.8.4. wxWidgets 2.6 is also available for X11. Is it necessary to have X11 and GTK+ built and installed prior to building VLC 0.8.4? I did follow your building VLC for *Nix systems for the successful build. F...

Any VLC 0.8.4 build for Fedora Core 2?

Hi HD Streamers, I have been playing with the cool 0.8.4a on my G5 servers but I am unfortunately stuck with older FC2 clients in the lab. Due to some in-house developed modules I can't upgrade to FC4. Therefore I havent yet upgraded VLC there from 0.8.1. We all know how 0.8.1 does not play nice wit...

Hi Rick, yes it's 16:9 standard definition (720x576). On my version the image is wider than it should be, squashed from the top. Do you get a different result in 0.8.2? I have no problem with any flattening or widening of the aspect ratio. But then I am watching it in "fullscreen" mode on...

I have been testing 0.84t2 the past week with good results on my PMG5 Server w/ dual 2 GHz runing OSX 10.3.9. I am playing your clip and plays OK with good aspect ratio. I assume it is an HD (16x9) ratio because that's what I am observing.

Hello again and thanks for the quick PING. Well, to fix your QTSS problems on Fedora, I recommend you to update to VLC 0.8.2 or 0.8.4 (once it is out and the binary packages are updated). <RH> I will be waiting for the Fedora/Linux binary install since I am not proficient at "make"ing bina...

VLC 0.84t2 Runs OK under Administrator, Not with other admin

Hello HD Streaming Wizards, I am setting up my PMG5 Dual 2GHz 1GB into a streaming server over a local subnet with four Fedora Core 2 (running VLC 0.8.1) clients and two Win2K (running VLC 0.8.4test2). The VLC in the PMG5 (also 0.8.4t2) runs GREAT under Administrator login but will not start under m...
