Hi, I just installed VLC 1.0.2 with Synaptic on Ubuntu 9.10/64 and I get a segmentation fault on launch. See vlc -v2 output below. I am trying to watch a WVC1 file in an MKV container. The VLC 0.9.9a Grishenko version plays it at ~2 frames per second full screen at 2560x1600 res and with no sound. I...

Stock Ubuntu VLC has a driver for Matroska containers. Why would the new source not?

Hi, I am trying to play an HD MKV file and the stock, Ubuntu 9.10 /64 bit VLC plays it at ~2 frames per second with no sound. MPlayer plays the sound fine, but no video.
