Re: How do I enable WASAPI?

I am sorry if this question is frustrating you, but all information I found in the forums drive towards activation of plugins which I do not understand how to implement or how they come into play. As for "Preferences -> Audio" I see no relevant options indicating WASAPI or "Windows Au...

How do I enable WASAPI?

Hello everyone,

Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to enable WASAPI on VLC?

All I found is this: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... +to+wasapi

And unfortunately I did not understand half of it.

Thanks in advance!

Re: "Post processing" setting is not saved

Thank you!

I was certain just because this button was not an obvious option to tick on the main menu, while "Video quality post-processing level" is there, that there was a problem with either my computer or the program.

Thank you both for taking your time helping me once again!

Re: "Post processing" setting is not saved

Hello again and thanks for taking your time responding to my inquiries once more. "Post processing quality" is also at "6" at the path you described and -FFmpeg post..- is set at "default". However, I still do not get post-processing automatically. Any other ideas? Than...

Re: "Post processing" setting is not saved

Sorry for bringing this up again - so I guess this is a problem on my end?

Can anyone tell me if this is possible for me to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Re: "Post processing" setting is not saved

"Video quality post-processing level" is at "6" if that is what you mean, is there another option to force it on every time I launch a video that I am not aware of?

Thanks again!

"Post processing" setting is not saved

Hello everyone, I have been having this problem since 1.x.x version (maybe even before, cannot really remember), and I always thought it had to do with a system incompatibility. Now, after I have changed OS, GFX card, MoBo, CPU etc. I still find myself to the same situation with Twoflower - whatever...

Re: VLC Twoflower x264 Profiles & Settings

Hello and thanks for taking your time once again to answer my inquiries. Can I also be informed regarding the "Use system codecs if available, for WMV codecs" - is it problematic only to me or why does it behave differently in comparison to the previous versions (selection does not get sav...

VLC Twoflower x264 Profiles & Settings

Hello everyone, I have been wandering around the forums and did some research on Google, but every information I have found is limited or too technical for me, so I will ask here and maybe someone can spare some time to answer: 1) The "x264 profile and level selection" is something that in...

Re: Automatic updates to the nightly builds?

Well I asked this so I can get an "automatic" update of the latest nightly version the next time I start VLC. For example, assuming I have the latest nightly build today, I can get the new one (that will come out tonight?) tomorrow morning that I will launch VLC again to watch another vide...

Alright, it would be so nice if we could do that though; be able to automatically stay up to date with the 'nightlies'.

Some of us like to live on the edge :P

Automatic updates to the nightly builds?

Hello everyone, As the topic suggests, is there a way to do this? Similar to Chrome's Canary builds that update automatically daily, is there a way to automatically or manually install the latest VLC build, but without navigating to the website and going through the installation process? Thanks in a...

Yes, WASAPI would be great too.

But does this mean that all other programs that are able to use my ASIO card are illegal?

VLC ASIO?

Re: How can I maximize quality?

Hello dumbo4711 and thank you for your response. I will take everything you said in mind, but please note that I have been using 0 - 255 for a long time now, that's because I have a CRT monitor and I am using high Gamma, so with "full range" I get the correct picture colors and brightness....

Re: How can I maximize quality?

Hello j-b, thank you for your answer! 1: I have been using VLC 1.1.0-rc, but at the moment I am using your night builds since I would like to check GPU Acceleration. 2&3: Done and Done 4: As I said in my post, unfortunately VLC does not save Post Processing, not at 26 or 7, it always goes back t...
