Re: VLC HEVC h.265 hardware/hybrid decode support

I wouldn't know, but it doesn't work. I can force dxva or use automatic in "input codecs" preferences with no effect. Cpu usage spikes, it becomes obvious no acceleration is being used.

Re: VLC HEVC h.265 hardware/hybrid decode support

Nvidia gpus starting with Maxwell had hybrid aka partial hevc support, they used part of the compute function of the gpu to help decode, it wasnt until second generation maxwell that full hevc was implemented. It's a partial solution which does work, 1080p hevc drops to single digits in cpu use in m...

VLC HEVC h.265 hardware/hybrid decode support

I've noticed that mpc-hc now has support for h.265/hevc decode, even hybrid nvidia decode works. Would be a nice feature to add to vlc because vlc still has faster than 1x playback with normalized sound, but with hevc cpu only decode this is a huge load on the cpu to playback at say..2x While with g...

Rebinding multimedia keyboard key functions? Microsoft keybo

I use a microsoft kb natural 4000, the pause and back/foward keys work, but the forward back buttons only seem to go to next and previous files in the playlist, I can't seem to bind it to say jump foward medium or long or whatever like I can in other players. The hotkey bind options window just igno...

Higher quality time stretching.

For some reason the way vlc handles time stretching makes the audio clipped and harder to understand. I'm comparing it against gom player which seems to do this very well, I can crank videos above 2x speed and it still sounds natural whereas vlc becomes unpleasant, maybe its the algorithm? I don't k...

Re: How to change playback speed WITH audio

It works in vlc but for some reason the quality is not quite right. You can notice this especially ifyou speed up the audio, it will rapidly degrade. I've tried the same in gomplayer and that goes up to 2x+ and still remains very understandable and clear, but gom uses more cpu than vlc, which is why...

Re: pitch/speed changes

Not sure if it is the same thing but yea compared to gom player the audio quality when time stretching just isn't as clear, it feels distorted and clipped, so the voices are harder to make out. Not sure why.

Re: Audio Normalize seems not to work...

VLC pretty much owns the competition in all areas of media playback.
lol
well not in this area, ffdshow audio settings just seem far more well done.

i use vlc for dvd and some mkv with subs that my coreavc+mediaplayer classic bodge up so i do need this ability in vlc as well though:(

Re: Audio Normalize seems not to work...

So does anyone have any new updates on possible solutions for this? I experience the same thing. Volume on almost every movie I watch is completely out of control and ridiculous. Music and sound effects are WAY TOO LOUD and speech is unbelievably soft. I find it extremely hard to believe that I'm i...
