Hi, Had the audio sync issues with the 1.1.10 VLC with Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS . I removed pulse-audio and installed alsa as a default and got sync back. Thanks for the advice but with the previous version of Vlc I've never had this kind of problems.

So the only thing to do is using VlC 1.1.9 until the bug will be fixed.

Yes, no problem with the default audio output module.

New information: this issue doesn't happen with windows 7. I have this problem on Windows XP.

This problem can happen if audio card clock is faster than that of your computer, or if your card has really high latency. The only way to solve the problem is forcing the audio frequency to 192000 Hz, I've tried other frequencies (44100, 48000) but this seems to be the only to work fine.
This fixes the issue in Windows and Ubuntu.

However I think this is a bug that should be solved.

I use Vlc 1.1.4 on Ubuntu 10.10 and I have not this problem with the same stream (and I use Pulseaudio)

Do you have this problem only with vlc and only with this file? Why don't you try to play this video with totem?

Did you install proprietary drivers? If yes, why don't you try to install a different driver version?
