I think I have solved my problem, it appears the flashing issue only occurs with 1080p files when being played from an external USB2.0 HDD. If I play them directly off my internal HDD the image does not flash! I am not sure why this happens still as XBMC plays off my external HDD with no issues so i...

Hello, if I output to 1/4 there is no change, the window size stays the same and the flashing continues. The same happens if I double the video output. If I pause the video the flashing stops but if I resume it will start up again. I doubt it makes any difference but this is over HDMI to a 50'' 1080...
