Nasty window pop effect

Hello, if a video is started in fullscreen mode you can see that vlc player creates a smaller window at first and then resizes it to fullsreen. This results in bright flashing rectangles on the screen for a short period of time. These may be the window bounds and additionally a filled rectangle that...

Re: force custom video width in fullscreen mode

Found it:
--scale=<float> Video scaling factor
Scaling factor used when Auto Scaling is disabled.
In fact i don't need a custom video width. A custom scale factor is sufficient as I can calculate a proper scaling for each video.
Now i understand our above answer ;-)

Re: force custom video width in fullscreen mode

Thanks again j-b. Alt+o is a really useful shortcut. Just to understand your answer right. There is definitely no way to force the video width in fullscreen mode? Maybe this can be achieved by a custom zoom level? If not, I will use one of the scalings that can be achieved by Alt+o. Is there a comma...

Re: force custom video width in fullscreen mode

Thanks for your answer j-b.
With "o" i can only choose between original size and scaled to screen.
I want to force vlc to use a custom video width in fullscreen mode.
For example: "Play this video with a width of 1440 pixels in fullscreen mode".
Other ideas?

[solved] force custom video width in fullscreen mode

Hi, is it possible to force vlc player to view a video in a custom width in fullscreen mode? It is possible to define the size of the window for video playback and let vlc scale the video to meet this size. But (of course) this does not work if the window is set to fullscreen mode. Help is very much...

Deinterlace by commandline switch

Hello, I need to start VLC player with different deinterlacing modes for different movies. Setting deinterlacing mode permanently via preferences http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-1.0.x#How_do_I_set_the_default_deinterlace_method.3F does not help, because I need to change deinterlacing according t...
