Re: Streaming to Real Player Mobile *for newbies*

You understand that an RTSP server must have a public unfirewalled IP address. You also understand that the RTSP client must either have a public IP address, or be behind a NAT with RTSP ALG support. It sucks? Well then don't use RTSP. It really sucks. But this is the only one way to stream video to...

Re: Streaming to Real Player Mobile *for newbies*

Can't get it working on FreeBSD, any changes in --sout section for my OS ?
... For tests I set firewall to "allow any from any to any", but this is not good solution, so I d like to know which port(s) used.

Thanks!

Re: vlc crash after long time sout

I have several 24/7 VLC based streaming servers on FreeBSD 7.2 8.0 and Fedora Core 12. As I assume this is OS independent problem. FreeBSD is most stable for this purposes (on Fedora Core VLC some times stops streaming without any errors and starts only on cron's request ... ) I use VLC compiled fro...

Re: Play video in console (FreeBSD)

j-b thank you for reply. I have seen video in ASCII, but I need realistic output. At this moment I'm trying to compile kernel with FB....

x264 multiple encoding, streaming and save issue

Hi, I use VLC to stream video in two resolutions on my site. It works fine, but when I trying to save one of this streams to disc it makes broken .mp4 files. Command line I use: /usr/local/bin/vlc -d /tmp/rawdv --sout '#duplicate{'dst="transcode{venc=x264{keyinit=10},vcodec=x264,vb=200,width=32...

Re: can play stream but not transcode it

Please post URL to Tricaster media and I'll try to look at. I have small VLC based streaming server which stream in flv format to embed player on the web page, I can view stream by VLC also, but VLC can't transcode it and save as file - loks like you have similar problem.

URL will looks like this: http://[ip_or_dns_name_of_vlc_server]:8888/stream0.flv ... Also I...

Re: P2P stream to 10,000 clients VOD

I have tested many other solutions for streaming video (free and non-free)- VLC is the best of it. I think you'll get problems with hardware limitations first.
Also you can try software from this list:

HTTP Streaming to two files with different bitrate

First of all excuse me for insufficient skills in English. Q: At this moment I use simple .FLV streaming scheme: /usr/local/bin/vlc -d /tmp/rawdv --sout "#transcode{venc=x264{keyinit=10},vcodec=x264,vb=200,width=320,height=240,acodec=aac,ab=48,channels=1,samplerate=22050}: std{access=http,dst=0...
