Why is it shorter than in just maximized mode? Is there a way to make it longer?

No. But anyways I figured it out (possible bug with VLC?). For one thing, VLC does not seem to like having - or = (the two keys between 0 and backspace) as global hotkeys. I wanted to use Ctrl - and Ctrl = but it wouldn't work. And another thing I found out, you have to restart VLC for the changes t...

The binded keys don't react.

I tried searching around for this feature and have only come up with 2-4+ year old responses, so probably a lot in VLC has changed by then. I have VLC 1.0.5 Goldeneye and it says stuff about setting global hotkeys in preferences, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
