Re: Adding an external audio track through dialogue "Audio"

I guess he means playing and external audio just like it can render external subtitles. Open your video file, than drag another audio track to the window.

That's wrong, it should recognize Wave as Multichannel PCM, and not DD.

Re: Subtitle Size in MKV

There are different formats of subtitles (others than srt), as many of them have embedded formatting. I'm not completely sure, but maybe you're not able to edit these parameters.
Is this a srt file (muxed into mkv) or another format?

Re: WAV & DTS PassTrough

No, you need to enable it: Preferences > Audio > Output.
Choose "DirectX audio output" or "Win32 waveOut extension output" on the droplist, and then check "Use S/PDIF when available" checkbox.

Re: Time for Blu-Ray support guys...

Cool. But what's the difference of "reading m2ts files" and "reading BDMV folder"?
If menus don't work, what else is in the folder that VLC can play?

And, just an estimate, do you believe we'll have full BD support in one year from now or so?

Macroblocks when DXVA is active

Since VLC added DXVA ability to ATI cards I've been using it with no problems. Today I was rewatching this video I ripped, and it gets a lot of macroblocks when DXVA is activated. Nothing happens when DXVA is disabled, it plays as smooth as ever was. Video info: General Complete name : E:\Vídeos\DVD...

Re: better quality in subtitle

I support this request. The quality is good when you're watching on the original size, but once you go fullscreen, it get's very pixelated. The more you expand the video, the worse it gets. The same things happens with all the OSD information. Those should be rendered according to screen resolution,...

GPU acceleration works with these videos on MPC-HC and ffdshow DXVA without problems. I believe it's VLC issue.

Re: 120 FPS on a 720P broadcast

In fact, 1080i broadcasts can have 29.97 frames/s (therefore 59.954 fields per second). But all progressive scan broadcasts are really up to 60 fps

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

Ok, following your instruction I remuked the file and the result is still the same. So I created a split of the file in 30 MB portions. you can find one sample to dowload here : http://eltouco.chez.com/Movie-DXVA-macroblocks.mkv hope this helps Touco I tested that file, the same thing happens here....

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

Being more precise, this is what happens: The first time I open the file, Windows Aero "blinks" - goes off, then turns on again - and I get the message "Video drivers crashed but recovered". After that, the playback continues, but the video screen is fully green. If I run any vid...

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

BSOD shouldn't happen, and I fear the issue is in the drivers... But if you could share logs or messages from before the crash, that would be cool. Yes, as I said when I edited my post, it is Catalyst's fault. See this thread: http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=136991...

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

ATI card working as perfect as possible with 1080p videos now. However, when I tried a 2160p , I got a BSOD. I don't know if it was caused by VLC or Catalyst. With GPU acc. disabled, VLC can "play" it fine. I mean, it shows one or two still frames, then the film ends, but the computer does...

It depends on which version of Windows you're using:
Go to Start > Run > type %appdata% and hit enter. It'll open an Explorer window. Find VLC folder and delete it.

Re: VLC 1.1.1 still no GPU acceleration

At first, DXVA won't be enabled for ATi cards until Catalyst 10.7 is released.
Once released, you can go to Settings > Inputs & Codecs > Enable GPU acceleration.

It won't be long, so be a little more patience.
