Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

Looks like Catalyst 10.7 is coming this Wednesday. Is there any ETA on VLC 1.1.1?

Re: 4K Video Compatibility?

I downloaded a couple of 4k videos from Youtube and they played just fine. Too bad the compression degraded a lot of their quality.
I played with no lags with an Intel Q6600, but probably it'd be skipping if the quality were better/less compressed. Let's hope 1.1.1 helps us with DXVA for ATi.

Re: No voices with .mkv files

You can use mkvtoolnix . Install/extract the files. If you're not used to command-line, use MKVExtractGUI * to extract the WavPack stream. *extract on the same folder as mkvtoolnix Converting: Download WavPack binaries here . Extract wvunpack.exe to the same folder as the audio stream. Open the comm...

Re: No voices with .mkv files

jwalker, you can decode the sound to Wave, then recompress to FLAC. It'll probably play, and you have a change to get a filesize slightly smaller.

TrueHD and DTS-MA bitstreaming

Is it possible? I've been searching, but I can't find info about it.
Bitstreaming works for ordinary DTS and AC3, but I can't make it work with TrueHD.

If not possible today, is there an estimated time of its implementation?

[Bug?] VLC shows wrong bit depth for MLP files

I extracted some MLP files from a DVD-A. Both DVD-Audio Explorer and MediaInfo show them as 24-bit @ 96 kHz, but VLC shows as 32-bit:

Is this a bug? I only tested on Windows, that's why I posted here.

Re: HDMI and DisplayPort Audio support ?

I bought a new receiver and tried to play a Dolby TrueHD video, but the passthrough didn't work. I don't know if it was set properly: Output mode: DirectX audio output [Check] Use S/PDIF when available Device: ATI HDMI Would anyone tell me if these are the correct settings? And I believe (not 100%) ...

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

Just an update on my case: I installed the latest nightly release (vlc-1.2.0-git-20100503-0003-win32), and noticed that it runs a little bit smoother than the 1.1.0, or at least I felt that. 576p movies seems to have only a few frames skipping, almost "not annoying", but still have the gre...

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

I tried on the other PC and it worked. It's an Intel i3 (I don't know the exact model) with an ATi HD4350, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

I'm having problems with DXVA
CPU Inter Q6600
GPU ATi HD4850 512 MB (latest Catalyst installed)
more info here: http://i42.tinypic.com/2n8v2a8.png
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

It works fine with XVID, but with H264, I get almost no frames. It keeps still until another frame shows up, many seconds later.
