Re: Bug Report - Recorded MP4 (from MP4)

Renaming and then playing it by adding to the current PlayList and using that to play the file worked for me. Playing recorded edits by using the 'Open File' method or any other method produced the problems...

Add to PlayList >> Play item from PlayList seems to be the workaround

Re: How to download youtube videos?

Can some one help me download a movie from youtube?
1-Click YouTube Video Downloader

MP4 Downloader

Both are add-on extensions for FireFox

Try them both I suggest.

Re: Video recorded with the record button

The youtube video is flv file, maybe the VLC player not support. If a file is in the flv format it usually has an flv extension  Firefox has plenty of add-ons for downloading their videos in mp4 format and these appear in the download folder with mp4 extensions.... In any case vlc plays them....

Re: Video recorded with the record button

I think its necessary to rename the file but that is not sufficient. It was only after I had been playing the file with other Media Players that eventually it worked. Maybe not even the same day. I can't remember exactly how but. The first Player I used was QuickTime and the next Media Player I used...

Re: Video recorded with the record button

I found out the same problem but after a while (playing the files with other Media Players ;) etc) the VLC gremlins inside the code decided they had better get their act together and play the files .... and now they play in VLC  I guess until the bug is fixed to play new recorded edit files in ...

Re: Bug Report - Using PlayLists

It seems that the playlist screen could use some enhancements: - Ability to either append or replace current entries when opening another playlist or file - Ability to remove multiple items easily. Currently, if you select everything in the playlist and try to right-click > delete, you can only del...

Re: Bug Report - Recorded MP4 (from MP4)

Strangely enough after about 10 minutes playing other files I tried again and it worked!!! Maybe I had to quit first and restart VLC before it would play its own edits. (Maybe it was relevant that I had to quit after renaming the files to remove the mp4 VLC appended to a filename already ending in M...

WishList - Transform Button

I found a Transform Image function in the Extended Settings/Video/Basic/Transform. So I can Flip reverse an image horizontally (strangely enough by selecting Flip Vertically !!) However it would be good to have an optional button to do this. Sports fans and coaches would then be able to see a left h...

Bug Report - Recorded MP4 (from MP4)

I found where VLC stores my Recorded edits which in my case is MyDocuments although it would be good to have an option as to where they should be. However the bug I am finding is that the MP4 recorded snips can be viewed successfully with QuickTime Player or Media Player Classic but not by VLC the p...

Bug Report - Using PlayLists

There seems to be no way of putting away the current PlayList A in use in order to to use another. Selecting another PlayList B simply appends the files to the current PlayList being used. i.e we now have PlayLists A+B The only workarounds are:- a) to individually delete each item in the current Pla...

Re: Record and Trickplay Reverse Functions - Help Requested

Automatically recorded have a date and time in their file name, so they won't overwrite one another.
Thanks Remi.

So how does one actually use the Record button? Do you have to press other buttons as well to get it to work?

Record and Trickplay Reverse Functions - Help Requested

. I notice there is no documentation I could find for the Record button. Playing a locally stored mp4 file I thought by pressing it I could maybe record and store a small portion of it in a separate file, but I am a bit wary of using it in case I overwrite the existing file or something. I also unsu...

Bookmark - Bug Report (Potentially)

. Having decided to make VideoLan my default media player for video I have found a few glitches in basic function. First one is to do with Bookmarking in relation to locally stored mp4 files. There is no shortcut to add a bookmark to existing ones which is a shame. But opening the bookmarks window a...
