I certainly understand you wanting to streamline things. I also appreciate you working on VLC for MAC! :)

Well if I did know how to edit code and where to do it, I would try, but I don't think it would be easy for me since I don't. Perhaps one day. You're lucky it's easy for you. ;)

You can change the subtitle text by going into Preferences, clicking on the All radio button lower left corner. Then click on Input/Codecs > Other Codecs > Subtitles. Hope this works for you!

When I used a PC, I could right click on a video playing to disable subtitles, etc. while using VLC Now I have a new iMAC and when I right click on a video, I only get the normal things like pause, play, volume, fullscreen, etc. I've looked around VLC preferences and cannot find a setting to enable ...
