Monitor and video resolution is 1920x1080 diagonal 42".
Purpose is too play video content half sized in full size window with black background around video.

Is there any VLC options to play video in half size?
Except reduced window size, which requires several extra screen settings.

Mkv video hangs in 30 minutes of 140 min.
I suspect mkv file corruption. How to diagnose and fix?
Any ideas?

Isn't there any multimedia voice controls for windows available at all?

Yes, I understand there is black band on full screen view but why it's not possible to remove/resize out this black area in Vlc windowed view?
When there is only 576 vertical pixels why Vlc still creates these black stripes when I set window height to 576?

I see that MKVToolNix is capable to fix this - setting aspect ratio back 16:9 and now video is not squeezed.

Snapshots are stored/archived in the same directory with video clips. Just numbers like vlc presently...

If VLC doesn't support snapshot file name by original, please suggest any other video player, where screenshot/snapshot is logically named by video file name.

Presently at best vlc snapshot file name is present date, which is quite useless in most cases and must be manually renamed.
