So, the issue is not the .asx, but some .mp3 that do not show infos, right? Well, the issue is that VLC does not get the .mp3 info from the .asx file. If I do that then the file from the working directory shows up in the playlist as it's proper name (not the new name from the non-working album).

Hi, I use .asx files to organise my music and have associated them with VLC (version 2.0.3 Twoflower) so I can play complete ablums by opening the relevant .asx file in VLC.
