Reading a few of the posts in the forum, I have come to the conclusion that H264 encoder does not work in version 0.9, while it does work in 0.8.6d. I would just continue to use the latter.

Dear al, I tried to gather some more details on the problem I encounter. First of all, when trying to stream with H264 VLC 0.9.8a aborts completely. I get a Windows error saying: "VLC media player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." And then t...
I have been using VLC 0.8.6d to stream video/audio over my home wireless lan (also to my Nokia N95 8GB). As input streams, I used both mpeg video clips as well as live video from a Pinnacle PCTV card, streaming via http, video using H264 @250Kbps and audio with mp3 @64Kbps. All works great. I recent...
J-b, entually I managed to get web interface to work. I removed all VLC versions from my pc, cleaning all prefernces and cache, re-installed VLC 0.9.8a, NO CHANGE to the .hosts file (i.e the line with ::1 is still uncommented as in the original file) The messages windows now reads: main info: Esecuz...

I changed all of them -the one in \old does not look like the others, the CRLF sequence is strange. In any case, what I get no...
J-b, thanks for the hint but I did not tweak the .hosts file at all. I tried in any case to "comment" the ::1 line but the result is still almost the same. Here the message file main info: creating httpd main error: invalid IP address ::1 main error: cannot add ACL from C:\Program Files\Vi...
I just installed VLC version 0.9.8b and I cannot get the web interface to start. I had no issues with VLC 0.8.6d. As soon as I start the new VLC and read the messages I see the following: main info: creating httpd main error: invalid IP address ::1 main error: cannot add ACL from C:\Program Files\Vi...
I face the same problem with my PVR150.
Can you at least play real time video locally WITH audio? I can see the video picture but cannot get audio.
In addition, what "messages" do you get while you are trying to stream?
Regards.
