may be with linux these problems don't occur but try the windows nighlty versions here are some mpg test files i reported months/years ago (1 contains xxx) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WSADHQEB all files work with mpalyer, mpc and even with wmp but they don't play with vlc about cue files with 1.11 ...

hmm wmp and mpc hc show same "lines" especial lip and fast movements
using a deinterlacer in vlc has only minor effect with this video

seems the video is encoded that way

may be i have an idea how do u open the dvd ? with "open disc" ? i have some selfburned dvds which will not play that way (reason: unknown/seems vlc cannot find video_ts.ifo file on its own..) here 3 solutions which may work 1st: try to open dvd with "open disc" then not dvd root...

wav and mp3 visualisation is ok when using goom and then change to other effect

but for flac files audio doesn't stutter but
visualisations are too slow like in vlc 1.1.x
using goom and then change effect won't help for flac files

hi i don't know since which version its broken (tested latest nightly build (from 16.8.) and build from 1.8, 1.7. and 15.6) vlc 1.2.0 cannot open cue files to open large flac files (its working with 1.1.11) i get this error messages: nightly vlc is in folder d:\8 flac and cue files are in folder d:\...

seems i made a mistake mpc hc requires only about 1% cpu power with gpu acceleration (evr render) if its better than vlc hmmmm ? may be image is slightly better with mpc but vlc has other advantages :-) i have some mpg video files which make some problems with vlc once a month i try the latest night...

is there a chance that the mpg decoder/codecs will be updated ?
all files play perfect with vlc beside these 3 files (from the xxx movie there are more mpgs which don't work)

all other players (even wmp) can play them so i think it should be possible vor vlc to play them too

to open dvds with vlc will take a while compared to other players like wmp, windvd, powerdvd, mpc,.... but this is normal when u open a dvd with vlc u may notice that your dvd drive led will flash and it takes several seconds before u see the dvd menu i am not 100% sure but i think the dvd decoder f...
