VLC 3.0 - codec info changed - info missing

Hi, I just noticed that with VLC 3.0 the codec info dialog has been changed. I am missing the color subsampling info (not sure if the option was called so exactly) - I mean the entry that usually showed values like "4:2:0" or "4:2:2". Why was that entry removed from the codec inf...

Re: Problem with seek via horizontal touch

I looked into the source code of VLC and found out that the sensitivity of the function "seek via touch" bases on the xdpi value, a value provided by the OS.
This value is unusual high (4 times higher than it should be).

Problem with seek via horizontal touch

Hi, I have a small problem with the function that allows to seek forward/backward the video by a touching the display and the moving the finger horizontally. In my current 10" tablet this seeking function only allows me to seek +/- 30 seconds if I use the whole screen width of 21cm (e.e. start ...

Re: VLC 64bit for Windows download missing on website?

Ok, I finally found it, but it is very well hidden. The main problem is IMHO that there are two pages page1 and page2 which are nearly identically regarding their design and the big orange download button. The only real difference is the different drop-down list of the download button. On the one pa...

VLC 64bit for Windows download missing on website?

I prefer the 64 bit version of VLC, however it seems that the official videolan.org website does not offer it to download (except for the manual download from the very slow FTP server). Why is VLC hiding the most common version (I assume that >90% of all Windows PCs are running a 64bit Version of Wi...

Re: Rewinding makes subtitles disappear.

Some years have passed, however subtitles and rewinding are still conflicting.

It is a a real pity that the used bug tracker does not allow voting for bugs.
Also the source code of VLC is pretty hard to understand because it contains nearly no comment.

Re: Remember installation settings

But for the installation options this should be possible (desktop icons and so on) - right? I found this example script for saving and restoring a nsis component state. My knowledge about NSIS is very limited but from my point of view this seems to address exactly this problem: http://nsis.sourcefor...

Re: VLC upgrading an installation - when will it be available?

Let me guess: registration of the ActiveX component?

OK, if copying the files is not enough at least the re-use of the installation settings would be nice. The available settings so not change frequently and they could be saved and re-used upon a new installation.

VLC upgrading an installation - when will it be available?

Hi, I like VLC very much but I have one problem with it: Every time when a new version comes out there is no way to upgrade an installation. because of the relative high frequency of new versions this is IMHO a problem: You always have to deinstall the old version and the install the new version and...
