Re: Remote control to control TV channels, using VLC / VLM.

I'm working on a Web application that allows controlling VLC from the browser. Since it runs on the same machine as VLC, the advantage is that it can also start / stop VLC so that VLC doesn't use CPU / Energy while not streaming. Below are some screenshots that are also available on Wiki here: http:...

Re: vlc CPU usage?

I am streaming from a TV Card on Ubuntu 10.04 running on Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16Ghz / 6Mb L2 Cache / 2Gb of RAM. My CPU usage was 165% on average (and load at 2.00). It was so strange, that I had to look up online why the CPU would ever be shown more than 100% load. Seems standard on Linux, if y...

high-pitch sound while streaming from tuner-tv

Re: Remote control to control TV channels, using VLC / VLM.

RemoteCAdm 1.1a is now able to control VLC Server on Linux (v4l2). I've updated the project home page http://code.google.com/p/remotecadm/ with it, and version 1.0a is marked as deprecated. There's also a new Wiki page there showing the scripts that I use to configure / start VLC on Linux (Ubuntu 9....

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 - no sound when streaming

I've got it running eventually ... I thought initially is because VLC may be older ... so I proceeded to download 1.0.6 and compile it. VLC build script is not correct for example: --enable-x264 H264 encoding support with libx264 (default enabled) but if you don't have the libraries for x264 correct...

Ubuntu 9.10 - no sound when streaming

Hello, I have an issue with the audio when streaming TV tuner from Ubuntu 9.10. A description on what happens on the system: a) tvtime works ok. b) vlc 1.0.2 standalone works partially: I have to give the width and height parameters for v4l2, otherwise the image size is not detected properly and I o...

Remote control to control TV channels, using VLC / VLM.

Hello, I've created an application that allows me to interact with VideoLan at home (I'm working abroad) and to change the TV channel while streaming. Situation: * working abroad, I have access to my home PC that is always on. * foreign country - I don't speak the language and TV channels are in for...
