Re: VLC very slow to start

I can confirm this occurs with Windows 7 and Windows 8 with 2.0.5. On Windows 7, the longest it has taken is six minutes. On Windows 8, it is almost double that on a fairly regular basis.

With no subs, do you have the lagg ?
Yes, but the lag is minimal. Though I seem to only see it with MKV files...

Re: Video output issues with softsub on Win32

1/ nVidia? ATI? 2/ Can you share the file with this? 3/ thanks for reporting the bug. 1: nVidia GeForce 9500 GS. I'd also like to note that the problem with softsubs is significantly worse with DXVA2 enabled... The DXVA issue was tested with Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser (名探偵コナン 漆黒の追跡者) 1080p m...

Video output issues with softsub on Win32

Hello, I grabbed the VLC 1.1.0-pre1 7zip package and ran it on Windows 7 64-bit desktop machine with Intel Core 2 Quad chip. First problem is with DXVA2 support. Without DXVA2, the video plays back smoothly, even though there is 15% CPU usage. When DXVA2 is enabled, CPU usage drops to 5%, but the vi...

CoreText on Mac broken, crashes on files with Unicode names

Hello, I just grabbed the 64-bit Mac version of VLC 1.1.0-pre1, and I tested it with a couple of videos on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on MacBook Pro Intel 64-bit. First, thanks for fixing styled subtitles on Mac OS X! It sucks when the subtitles spread all over the screen because it ignores stylin...

Re: ASX is not ASX ?

I have two Internet streams, both .asx types. Both will play fine in Windows Media Player 11. One will play fine in VLC 1.0.5, One will not play in VLC 1.0.5, crashing VLC every time. Other kinds of streams I've tried play fine on both VLC and WMP. The above is true on both Vista 64 and XP machines...

Re: Looking for testers on Windows Vista/7 for DxVA2

Yes, the fullscreen is broken, but this isn't relevant for the decoder. We need to see the CPU graphs and % of load, if possible (see performance in taskman) Image of VLC 1.1.0-git running in Windowed mode along with task manager onscreen Note: Videos loaded in VLC 1.1.0 didn't scale properly autom...

HP Pavilion Elite m9552p PC Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 nVidia GeForce 9500GS w/ 512MB VRAM Windows 7 Home Premium x64 8GB RAM Slight weirdness, but overall worked okay. An oddity in VLC 1.1.0 git that occurred in both GPU accelerated and non-GPU accelerated video playback in fullscreen: http://i37.phot...
