i figured it out i went to help and checked for updates in the vlc program downloaded that to my desktop when finished i installed it doing so i had to uninstall the old vlc and when installing the new one i chose to add a newfolder insted of trying to use the existing folders for vlc cause the prog...

please let me know if you figure it out i'm having the same problem. If I open a file seperately by opening first vlc then it will play but if I go through my computer for example and right click it wont play even if the file is already associated, by the normal doubleclicking.Im using windows vista...
