I don't think you can do that but you can try this. Click on the show extended settings button,its next to the show play list button. Then video effects and then geometry.

I have all my .mkv video files open with VLC media player and I have my view set to large icons, so I have a thumbnail screen shot of each video. I had to uninstall and re-install VLC, but now I don't have thumbnails anymore and I just have the large cone icon instead. Can anyone help?
So I right click a video and scroll down to open with, and select open with VLC media player but nothing happens. VLC doesn't open or anything. What's going on?
