I use VLC Portable with XP-Home-SP3. After updating VLC to version 1.0.5 VLC has bold typs. How can I change that?

I cann't find a possibility to make VLC the responsable program to open video and sound formats or to end that responsability. Only at the time of installation there seems to be a possibillity for doing that. I didn't do that at this time and it is awfull to go every time the way of 'open with'. How...
