I can confirm that this also happens for me on XP Pro SP2, however I've noticed that VLC does unload eventually after an extended period of time.

Any time I try to play a video (all formats are affected) it displays correctly on my monitor, but doesn't show up on my tv which is set up to clone. If I shut down VLC and play it a second time, the video shows up correctly on both displays. Any ideas on how to fix this? Windows XP SP2 Asus A7N8X-X...
