The VLC skins engine doesn't support alpha transparency for images. It would consume too much "CPU load". The only way for you to do that is to create your background image with lots of dark grey points/pixels separated by an empty pixel. This will create the illusion of a dark background....

It seems this bug is gone in recent nightly builds.

Hey. I have just added the fullscreencontroller and I get strange behaviours for some buttons (especially DVD, info, PL, VI, and Always on Top buttons). When you change preferences to switch the UI from QT to skins2, it would be cool if VLC would apply this setting immediately.
At the moment, you have to chose skins2, and restart VLC.

I notice a graphic bug when I open a video file. It happens with the Video window borders..

Ok, after a long break... (just 3 years), I just wanted to say that I am back and this time, I am going to finish my work on skins currently in progress.
I am working on Navaga again and I hope it to be released before 2010 (I hope so )
