Changing timing for subtitles

Is there a way to do this such as lagging them or making them go ahead? Thanks in advance.

How to play HD smoothly?

I have read previous posts and have done google searches, but I cannot get VLC to play HD movies as smooth as Media Player Classic w/ K-lite Codec. I love VLC, but this is one area which I wish could be improved. Are there any suggestions that can be made to improve the smoothness (not freezing mome...

Re: Saving settings

Ah I see it now thank you. I thought I did have my windows set at 5.1 but it wasn't apparently. Also I forgot about that "ALL" button on the bottom there. Thanks for the help.

Saving settings

Is there a way to save settings. For instance, I use 5.1 audio and it gets old having to change it to 5.1 everytime I open up a file. Thanks in advance.

Opening multiple instances of VLC

Is there a way to open VLC 2 or more times so that one could watch two different files simultaneously? I have done it before, but it wasn't intentional and could have just been a glitch.

Re: Autorplay not working

I haven't watched this thread in a while since I pretty much accepted that I had to deal with what I got. I got a message for the new 1.1 and it seems to work now.

Re: Autorplay not working

So how do I fix this? It still works if I right click and do "play with vlc..." but I shouldn't have to exit out of the autorun to do that.

It looks like it's already there. It says: " "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --started-from-file dvd://%1 "

Autorplay not working

Whenever I pop in a DVD, the autoplay box that says "What do you want Windows to do" followed by numerous audio/video playing software that you can select doesn't ever work when I select VLC. However, if I exit out of that screen and then right click the DVD icon and select "play usin...

Unable to Play DVD's with correct sound

I have noticed that on several DVD's I have rented, the sounds of peoples voices will not appear. An example of this is "A Serious Man" and "The Collector." On both DVD's, I have adjusted several audio tracks. The default is always on Track 1 English. Sometimes there is a Track 2...

Can't play DVD's

Whenever I pop in a DVD and my autorun comes up, selecting VLC as my player will only result in an error. File reading failed: VLC could not open the file "dvd:D:\". Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:D:\'. Check the log for details. I have to manually go to the...

Re: Version 1.0.3 and .asf

it says

"main warning; resampling stopped after 19293213 usec (drift: -2881)"
Are you not able to download the sample? There should be a link at the bottom that says "click here" to allow you to view the file.

You should notice that by playing in another player such as WMP, it will work fine. Please let me know what you think.

Version 1.0.3 and .asf

I just updated my vlc to the latest 1.0.3 and I am noticing problems which were not there previously. I'm not sure what version I had before I updated, but now when I play certain .asf files, there will be a constant squeeking sound which will happen in bursts of only a millisecond but it is easily ...
