It sounds like you only want to share static content. In this case you'll be better off installing a web server (eg. apache) and put your files in there.
VideoLan is mainly useful for realtime streaming (eg. dvb channels, video acquisition cards, webcams, etc...).
Nothing at all. VideoLan is mainly useful for realtime content streaming. Think DVB channels, video acquistion cards, webcams, etc... For static content there is usually no reason to use VLC/VLS (well there actually are a few like on-the-fly transcoding, etc... but mainly for power users). That bein...
The MTU size to be changed is in fact in the VLC preferences panel under the "input" section.
Change this to something like 30000 and check if you still have those problems.
For the audio problem I would first make sure my soundcard drivers are up to date. You could also try to select an alternative audio output plugin in the preferences of VLC (try the waveOut one). As for the video problem in 0.7.0-test1, I've seen this problem on 1 computer (which I don't have access...
Make sure you have write access rights for your DVD device (/dev/dvd ?).
Libdvdcss needs that in order to send commands to the DVD drive to decrypt the content.
I fixed a nasty bug in the audio transcoding yesterday so could you try to compile a CVS version and check it is working fine for you ? Ah and for the win32 client, can you give a try to: http://www.videolan.org/pub/testing/vlc-0.7.0-test1/win32/vlc-0.7.0-test1-win32.exe Or even more recent: http://...
No, it's a limitation of the seeking method used in the rc interface. Seeking in % of the file size will work because VLC does know the file size of your TS sample. But seeking in time (seconds) doesn't work because TS streams don't have a bitrate information or time indexes so we just can't find th...
No it shouldn't be difficult, have a look at src/vlc.c which is a basic app which makes use of libvlc. However bear in mind that vlc/libvlc are released under the GPL license so if you plan to redistribute your program, you will have to redistribute its source code as well. http://www.videolan.org/d...
You have the libintl.h error because you didn't install the gettext package. You should still be able to compile vlc by using the --with-included-gettext option for ./configure. And make sure you are using a recent snapshot of vlc (0.7.0-test1 or even cvs) because the ssize_t problem has been fixed ...
Well, I for one didn't know about this ;) Could you have a look at the debug messages. There should be the full list of supported modes (sizes, chroma) somewhere. Only the sizes shown in there will work. But it still means that there is a check that isn't done correctly in the code and that vlc is u...
