Try to enable the "waveOut" audio output plugin in the VLC preferences panel.

Have a look at this version, it features a DirectShow input plugin that can be used to stream webcams, analog video capture cards, etc..

You can't. VLS only supports DVB cards under linux.

This is fixed in this version:

The problem seems to be there:

vout_directx debug: selecting Matrox Graphics Mystique PCI, \\.\DISPLAY2
vout_directx debug: screen dimensions 0x600

I don't know yet why the dimensions are not valid though.

That's interesting. Could you reset the video output to "predefined", open the "Messages..." window then play something an move the video window between the 2 screens. Post the debug messages in here afterwards, I might be able to find out why the DirectX output doesn't display a...

Multicasting is kind of a special way of broadcasting that allows someone to save bandwith by sending the stream only once instead of for every people that are connected. Open the "Messages..." window in the VLC interface, play a movie file then post the full log of debug messages. That should be enough to track the problem.

You are the second person reporting this weird behaviour with the DirectShow plugin so I guess there is a bug somewhere but I haven't managed to find it.

A full log of the debug messages might be useful to track this down.

Ok I fixed it and tested it this time so the 2003/12/11 snapshot should be working fine.

I actually have seen this problem myself and tracked it down to the directx audio plugin. I couldn't find what the exact problem was with the directx audio plugin though (it could also be just a buggy driver). If you have time to do some other experiments, try to select the "waveOut" audio...

And don't forget that these headers will likely only work with a gcc compiler.

You can't do what you want. DVD navigation is done with the help of some metadata (the .ifo files on the DVD) and they are not streameable. Streaming like you did will just end up with a non interactive video and the menu sequences won't even be visible because they are composed of "still"...

Use the --http-host config option (eg. --http-host=:8181)

However there are plans to rewrite this part of the code after 0.7.0 is out.
