VLC-0.7.0 has support for multi-monitor systems. However many cards can only display a video overlay on only 1 screen at a time so if you are running in "duplication" mode (same output on both displays) you need to tell windows that your primary display is the TV out if you want to have ov...

If when you click on the "Refresh" button in the DirectShow input tab, your card isn't listed in the video devices combo box, it likely means that your card doesn't have a DirectShow compatible capture driver.
In that case there isn't much we can do about it.

Support for the SS2 will likely not work (yet) because I dont' have access to such hardware. But if you are willing to help me by doing some testing, we could hopefully have it working soon :) First, could you open the "Messages..." window in VLC then try to open your DShow input by select...

Can you try to play with the --http-caching option on the client (try something like 600ms). This option is also available in the preferences dialog.

Not sure what you did exactly. If you want to translate VLC, have a look at the README file in the following package: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/devtools/vlc-po-files-0.7.0.tar.gz Basically you'll have to create a zh_CN.po file for Chinese simplified. If you are really serious about c...

I'm not exactly sure what AVISynth is but I fear it is not supported by VLC.
I'll try to find out more about it.

It looks like a bug in VLC and will need to be solved. But I personnaly prefer using 16bpp as it is lighter on the system resources while I can't really see any visual quality difference with 24bpp. I'd also advise you to get the Xvideo extension of XFree86 working on your system as it is a lot fast...

Which color depth are you using for your display ?
Try 16bpp if you are not already using it.

Apparently those files are encrypted so can only be played through iTunes.
There is an app called QTFairUse which can decrypt them but I heard it produces headerless raw aac files so VLC will have problems playing them.

If it only happens with some files than it is likely an audio codec that vlc doesn't support.
Otherwise, first try to update the drivers for your soundcard. If it still doesn't work, try to select the "waveOut" audio output plugin in vlc's preferences.

Unfortunately VLC doesn't yet support overlaying subtitles on a video output with YUY2 chroma.
Try to set your display colour depth to 32bpp and disable the "Overlay video output" in VLC's preferences menu.

Don't use VLS on windows, it is completely useless (all its nice features are only available on linux).

You'd better use VLC which can also be used as a streaming server (see the stream output dialog box) and is a lot more user friendly.

This message means that some data got lost before arriving to VLC (bad signal quality ? problem with tsreader ?) You can maybe try to increase the caching on VLC's side to see if it isn't just a problem with the data arriving too late. Go into the preferences panel -> plugins -> access -> udp and mo...

If your display color depth is set to 24bpp then change it to 16bpp or just wait for the final 0.7.0 release which fixes the problem with 24bpp displays.

I just added support for the YV12 fourcc in the transcoder.
Unfortunately I couldn't test and it is very likely that the colors will be inverted in the transcoded video.
