I am using ubuntu 9.04 with OSS instead of ALSA, since ALSA does not support my soundcard. Recently, VLC has stopped playing any sound. It still says it is playing the file, but mp3s, wavs, and movies are all silent. I doubt this is specifically VLC because totem, amarok, and rhythmbox have no sound...
