Tried it. Black screen and then crash. Here's the report: Process: VLC [1564] Path: /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC Identifier: org.videolan.vlc Version: 0.8.6i (0.8.6i) Code Type: X86 (Native) Parent Process: bash [1555] Date/Time: 2008-08-30 00:11:10.893 +0200 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.5.4 ...
I know a place with some HD material, but it needs an invitation to get in (I have several). It's a Spanish site (from Spain, not latin-america) hosted in the Netherlands that only does HD material. Even if it's Spanish, most of the HD videos have the original audio too. Most videos play ok, but the...
The other day VLC killed my neighbor's cat I turned VLC on, and just when it crashed with an mkv file in Mac OS X... BAM! The cat was run over by a truck
I've used VLC in Windows before and I'm confused with a difference that I see in Mac OS X that I can't understand. In Windows I do: File Open File Streaming/Saving->Settings And there I can put my own MRL. In Mac there's no MRL to be seen there and the only way I can see any kind of MRL is in the ve...
Hi, I've encountered a small problem with VLC. I currently have the 0.8.6e but I'm sure that it's not version specific bug. I'm using a program called Quick Menu Builder and I'm trying to do this: Create a button that closes the menu and then executes VLC with several videos in it's playlist. At the...
Nicer looking subtitles. Why? Mmm... the thing is that the subtitles seem to be like without any antialiasing or whatever makes fonts smooth. It's annoying to download a 7.5 GB movie in x264 in 720p with various subs fit in the .mkv and when you go and turn the subs on... BAM! These fat and ugly sub...
I agree with the better volume control, at least in windows. The 0-200 is ok (and useful), but it's a bit too small to adjust with the mouse correctly.
Why should they wait? I don't understand. It's never too early to give support for new formats. The sooner they start with it the sooner they'll have a bugless player for when the market is ready for it!
Really? Great! I am going to buy a better video card soon, though. The one I own now (Radeon X800XL) finds it a bit difficult to play HD content. I mean, it can play them, but there is a bit of "hiccups". Actually... it helps to have a good video card, but not to a really good extent. If ...
If I'm not mistaken, the only player that supports HD-DVDs is Intervideo WinDVD. That's what we want to change, we want VLC to support it too! :D We will also need a HD-capable video card Not completely true, some video cards can help de CPU decode h.264, VC-1 or MPEG-2 but it is NOT a requirement....
From what I can see, DGMurdockIII posted a couple of links about VC-1, the compression codec the HD-DVDs use. Let's hope they'll be useful! 8) Well... the problem doesn't seem to be the codec. The problem is the copy protection. Without the decoding of the copy protection you can't play it either e...
The tittle says it all. It would be great if VLC would start giving support to watch movies from HD-DVD discs and BlueRay discs just like there's support right now for DVD movie discs :-)
I've been experiencing problems with VLC lately too... It might have to do with some Windows Update thing because I didn't change anything in VLC and one day it started crashing every time I close it. It works ok, but crashes when closing. Sometimes it closes without a crash but you look at the proc...
What am I doing wrong here? "C:\Archivos de programa\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "I:\Video.avi" :sout='#transcode{codec=mp2v,vb=3072,scale=1,acodec=a52,ab=384,channels=6}:std{access=file, mux=ps,url="C:\Movies\Your File Output.ps.mpg"}' --aspect-ratio="16:9" --sout-...
I spoted a bug. I was navigating in VLC with the http webpage interface, browsing my hard drive and added this entry "G:\eMule\Blood\[Dark-Subs]Blood+ 20 SubsEsp (Xvid).avi" It showed ok in the web interface but it didn't play at all. I looked at the error report and it said it couldn't fi...
